We are ready for what’s being called a global moment of healing by playing Jackson’s “Heal The World” for its full 6:25 duration. https://www.instagram.com/heal.the.world.25june26/
The global moment of unity and tribute is planned for June 25, 2026, at 2:26 pm (Los Angeles time), which is Jackson’s day and time of death. A post circulating through the fan pages reads: “On June 25, 2026, at 14:26 PDT, time zones vanish. At the exact second the world lost Michael Jackson, we bring him back to birth his dream.”
Michael Jackson Is Everywhere Again... But Did He Ever Really Leave?
One minute we're scrolling social media, the next we're down a full-blown Michael Jackson rabbit hole. And judging by the millions of views, comments, reaction videos and MJ content flooding our feeds, we're not the only ones.
In this episode of TLC: The Life Chat, we ask the important questions:
Why is the world suddenly obsessed with Michael Jackson again?
Was he simply ahead of his time?
And why do so many of his songs feel like they were written for today's headlines?
From Heal the World and Man in the Mirror to They Don't Care About Us, we unpack the messages hidden in plain sight and discuss why Michael's music seems to be resonating with a whole new generation.
Of course, we couldn't talk about Michael without diving into the controversies. We revisit the allegations, the 2005 trial, media coverage, celebrity testimonies, and the stories many fans believe never received the same attention as the accusations themselves.
Along the way we chat about:
• Whether Jaafar Jackson has actually channelled his uncle
• The Tommy Mottola and Sony feud
• Banned lyrics and misunderstood songs
• Moonwalker and the deeper themes (see links to some of his other short films below)
• Neverland, animals, children and why Michael created a world of his own
• Unreleased tracks and forgotten gems from the catalogue
• Theories, rumours and questions surrounding Michael's death
• Why so many people are rediscovering his message of healing, compassion and unity
Whether you're a lifelong fan, a casual listener, or someone wondering why your social media feed suddenly looks like it's 1988 again, this episode is a nostalgic, thought-provoking and occasionally cheeky deep dive into the King of Pop.
Because love him or question him, one thing is certain...
Michael Jackson still knows how to get people talking.

Cassieah, okay. just- Yeah. Oh, okay. We've- Michael Michael Michael We've been anticipating this for a while. Just Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson, Michael... Like, you know when you do your little, you see your friends' stuff, and then if you've got time, let's be honest, I do it every day.
LaurenMindless scroll. Yeah. Yours? Just Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson. Mi- 100%. do a scroll. Mm. Mindless Yeah. With yours, 100%. Yeah. Michael Jackson. I get lost for an Yeah Michael Jackson dances, songs. I know I love it. And can I say, like,
CassieI, I've always loved his music too. But you start listening to different things and, I've still listened to him over the years off and on, but you listen to different,, music and other artists come about and... But since watching the movie- I've become, re-obsessed. So
Tinawith yeah. So why do we that is,? Because it's a worldwide Everyone is saying they are hyper-fixated. They cannot stop thinking about him, they cannot stop playing him, they cannot stop talking about him. just our age. No. It's, like, our kids, who didn't even... Well,
Laurenmy kids did grow
Tinaup but generally with Michael Jackson. Yes, yeah, yeah. But generally they didn't. Have you seen the babies obsessed though? I saw a five or six-year-old at my school yesterday leave the building doing the moonwalk. Oh. Yes. Yes. Yes. So- That's so cool so yeah, yeah, back to your question, why? I have a bit of a theory, but you go. Yeah, no, you go. I wanna hear your theory. feel like Michael Jackson is,, the light that the world needs- Yeah at the moment. Yes. 100%. at the moment. 100%. I feel like we Yes Mm. And we
LaurenYep. this is gonna sound cooked, but I feel like he is the light-
CassieMm
LaurenEven though he's not anymore. Yeah. agree. Yeah. It's like his spirit- is here, of all ages, to show us the light, to heal the world, to remind us of all the things that he was- Mm saying all those years ago. Yes. Um, you, so you guys agree? Oh,
Cassie100%. in person, but this is how he gets to come back and remind us all. And even, you go, "You've listened to the songs for years," and it kind of, they're just words. I mean, you know, they mean stuff, but now more than ever, I'm finding I'm listening to the lyrics and really- really listening to the lyrics and what he was to say.
Tinasay. And- had a message had so many messages.
Laurenthey wanna say is that they, they don't really care about us." Have you-
Tinayou looked at the lyrics?
Laurenquite detailed Oh, Palestine, about Palestine or that.
TinaSo that Oh, Palestine song, was never put on an album. But after The first accusations came out within three months of that.
Let's listen to the song Palestine Don't Cry. Chills
Speaker 27See the plains of the days of old. Just a century ago, when stories of peace were told. Of how Galilee ran through the Jordan River. What remains are cold tales of war. Of the death and dying, bombshells are flying, bodies multiplying. See the children crying, what are they fighting for?
TinaAnd so that first boy his name was, Jordan Chandler. He was 13 years old, and at the time he was actually estranged from his father, when the accusations come out. And then in 2005, he actually took a restraining order out against, his dad, Evan Chandler, and then Evan died by suicide, four months after Michael Jackson's death. So there's some conspiracy surrounding that, too And the way Jordan Chandler apparently met Michael Jackson was that, Jordan's stepfather, David Schwartz, he had a car rental place, and Michael Jackson's car broke down close by. And then he recognized Michael Jackson and offered him a free rental car and told his, told Jordan's mom to bring Jordan down and meet him. And then so ever since that day, the boy and his family became really good friends with Michael Jackson. Mm. And, the dad found out that,, his son is friends with Michael Jackson, and so he started getting chummy, chummy. Now, this guy was a dentist in Hollywood. He was a drug dealer to the stars, and he was a budding, movie writer, producer. So he was going to Michael all the time like, "I wanna produce this, I wanna do this," to the point where Michael Jackson just cut him off and said no. That's when it all come about. Yeah. Well, I can remember watching... Is this like the two boys that were interviewed that time? Is he one of those boys? Yeah, this is the, he's the very first one, Yeah. and then years later-
LaurenI can remember a long time ago watching boys, and it was so obvious that they were being fed and told what to say and, I mean, I never believed It was No
Cassieyou can see the coercion on him no, but- How could someone who loves people- Yeah so much ever do any harm like that? You just can see the love. And I think like we didn't have access to this information back then, so
Laurenwe just had to go with what we were told. Mm. read in the newspapers, what you were told in the news. But even then we didn't believe Yeah, yeah. We are normal. We're not like everyone else. We don't believe anything. Turns out we've been right about everything. No, know. Funny We don't believe anything, a lovely, that. We don't believe anything because he was a lovely, genuine, caring soul, and he d- he just didn't have it in him. But we didn't have access to the internet to get that information. No, that's right to get this kind of information about- Yeah this Hollywood the
Cassieguy And there's so much- Yeah didn't know Yeah
LaurenYeah. I So these younger people have got access to that That's right that's why they're like, "Well, this like ...And he
Tinawas acquitted on all charges- five months with a jury, and the jury was all white and all professionals. They made sure that it couldn't become a race thing. Five days a week, eight hours a day, for five months, and he was acquitted on every single charge. Why are there still people out there who still think that he's a bad man? Because they don't get the acquitted stuff. They haven't seen the interview with Macaulay Culkin where he says, "There's absolutely no way." Well, actually, let's play the interview, with Corey Feldman
RecordingI've told the police. In fact, if anybody wants to go back to nineteen ninety-three when I was interviewed by the Santa Barbara Police Department, I sat there and I gave them the names. They're on record. They have all of this information, but they were scanning Michael Jackson. All they cared about was trying to find something on Michael Jackson. Who you said, by the way, did not abuse you. Who Michael was innocent, and that was what the interview was about with the police in nineteen ninety-three. I told them, "He is not that guy." And they said, "Well, maybe you just don't understand your friend." And I said, "No, I know the difference between pedophiles and somebody who's not a pedophile because I've been molested. Here's the names. Go investigate."
TinaMm. There's lots of interviews like that,, that you can find. We never saw those interviews, when we were young. It was all mainstream media and that Bashir interview, which was cut to shit, and there's a, there's the full interview because Michael's people actually filmed that on their own camera and have played There's a whole, the full interview from start to finish. So you can watch that, and you can see how badly cut it is. It's horrendous. up. We need to watch all that. It's horrendous. Yeah. talk about mainstream media, it, it's so manipulated. They get out- bits and they cut things and so a lot in the peoples', uh, of, not but people that don't know and just, they're just going segments they're fed mainstream TV. And that's what they with everything. You know? Exactly. And even Aaron Carter, Yeah they tried to use him to say that he was abused. There's an interview with Aaron Carter talking about how he was called into the hotel room and his mum sat him down and said, "Now, we think something's happened." And he looked at his mum and he was like, "Are you serious? Actually, I'm gonna play that interview for you now. Aaron Carter died less than a year after disclosing this. Have a listen
Recordingthere's four FBI agents waiting for me in the hotel room, and my mom's there and she's like, "Tell them what happened." And I'm like, "What do you mean tell them what happened?" And I sit down with them, and they all got ask these super sexually exploited, you know, questions, back, back-sided questions, and I knew that at my age already. And I looked at all four of them and I said I said, "Are y'all crazy?" I said, "What you think I'm gonna do? Tell you that Michael did something bad so that we, we can sue him for money?" That's what I told him. I was like, "You're cra-" And I looked over at my mom, and I was like, "Are you serious, Mom?" I was like, "What is going on here? Why are you letting this happen?" And she goes, she goes, "Well," she goes, "Uh, well, I think something happened. You know, I think something." I'm like, "Really? That man did nothing but be hospitable, kind, loving, giving, everything you could think of."
CassieMm. It's unreal, hey? It's so controversial, but it's not really, 'cause it's all out there and we've just seen it. Mm-hmm. But there are still people, so I feel like our kind of age and above, so the younger ones are, are obsessed with him and love him- Yeah
Laurenand at all. Yeah. I said, they avoid reading the papers, they listen to the news. They don't do- Exactly their research. Because when this movie I mean, Tina's seen it three times, I've seen it two times, you've seen it once so far, but I'm going back. back, yeah. I'm going back. Yeah. I'm just gonna- Ava has just been to see it for the second time. I will just watch it, but then I'll watch it I have mentioned it to people of my age or older, and they just seem a bit like, "Really?" Like, "Why, would you wanna go and see that? Oh, I couldn't, I couldn't bring myself to," or, "I'm not interested in that," or... You wouldn't wanna support that. Like, what? I was just like, "What?" Like, what? Yeah. Mm. It's the hands-down best movie I've ever seen in my whole entire life. Well, the box office proves that. incredible. Incredible. I just, it blows my mind that people won't go and see it because it, they don't wanna support Michael Jackson because they still- So ridiculous believe that he is guilty of these charges that were cleared anyway. Well, look at the stupid Netflix- watch documentary. I watch it, of course, and, um, we actually the that night- to,
Tinato actually protest against it. #cancelnetflix. Mm. that's it. Um, yeah, it's just, it's wild that people can still believe it, It's sad that believe seeing this- around, yeah because, I mean, there's a good place where you go that he is there. Yeah. And he's Well, I got Yeah about that. It says, um, "You don't have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body." Yeah. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. I reckon Jaafar Jackson has his soul. a soul. Yeah. Yeah. a star seed. Oh. And he's bringing a Yeah. An important one. And, like, when we were talking about it, when you watch him, you told me about it before I went, and I just kept going, "My God, he is-" He moves exactly like him How is that not the real one? it, not only he moves exactly like him." How is that not the real one? Probably a good dancer. nailed it, he's better. There's, yeah. The dancer, it's like, oh my God, not only has he got it- It, it just is- but he's better like you're watching Michael Jackson. And was that his He sang everything. The way he the way he
Laurenhe was dancing. Yep. The way he spoke, the way he moved, his mannerisms. You d- yeah, you forget it was an actor. Unbelievable. And
Tinayou did
Laurenwere watching Michael. It's- Yes unbelievable. Also, though, Jaafar is unbelievable, and I feel like we don't give- The little one the little one- even his I don't even know even his name? Mm, He yeah. brilliant. His singing voice, it was... And he... And yeah, we need to give a shout-out- Yeah and make more of a hype about him because he unbelievable.
CassieOh, he was. he was sure. Yeah. Yeah. Um, back to that- What do we not know r- they don't really care about us Yeah. Okay. So- We should get the lyrics
Tinashould get the lyr- I should get the you ever read it? Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, the banned lyrics were, "Jew me, sue me, kick me, kike me, don't you black or white me." Mm. They didn't really care about us. So that was banned in the States, so- Oh, So I'll say what
CassieI looked up this morning didn't have Jew me. No Everything else was quite close-
TinaYes but not do me. But the, uh, the actual version- yeah That was filmed in Brazil. And he sung the words that were meant to be banned, so that was massive controversy as well. And then after that was all the talk about Sony, and
Speaker 19And Tommy Mottola, let's play that
Speaker 20So I'm leaving Sony a free agent, uh, owning half of Sony. So I own half of Sony's, and I'm leaving them, and they, they're very angry at me because of it. But, um, I just, I just did good business, you know? It's- Tell them. Tell it, Michael. Tell the story. But, um, so- Oh my God the way they get revenge is to try and destroy my album. But, but, uh, I've al- I've always said, you know, art, art, good art never dies Thank you. I love Unbreakable. You know And Tommy Mottola is a devil. I'm not supposed to say what I'm gonna say right now, but I, I have to let you in on a secret. Say it.
Speaker 19So,
Speaker 20uh, please don't videotape what I'm going to say, okay? Turn that off, please. You know what? You know what? I don't mind. Tape it
Speaker 19That's
Speaker 20yeah. Mariah Carey After divorcing Tommy, came to me crying. Crying, she was crying so bad I had to hold her. And she said to me that, "This is an evil man. And Michael, this man follows me," she said. He taps her phones, and he's very, very evil, and she doesn't trust him. And he is a horrible human being,
So, you know, this is all motive, you know, for destroying Michael.
TinaHis fans actually, had a protest in front of Sony Music one time, and he turned up and joined the protest with the fans. Yeah, and he was- and he had a big sign, "Sony is phony."
LaurenHe's just, the best, and then, you know, he was accidentally killed. He was... I think I said this last week, but a doctor accidentally giving the wrong medication, that to a to a But I, I mean- because you know- celebrity go to- the... Um, my daughter's a nurse, but, like, you know, you give medication No there's a lot of protocol and triple- and triple-check, sign it off, and get someone to check. I find it hard to believe that gave him accidentally the wrong medication. That he was murdered. was I didn't say I know, well, I wanna I don't have the facts, but- Well,
Cassieif you listened-
Tinaintuition
Cassieright back from the day I first- Yeah
Tinafound out that was accidentally And what, we're okay with that? We're okay with a doctor accidentally giving a superstar the wrong medication and he died, and we just move on? Well, they did it to Prince, too. but-
Cassiethen now it comes out that Michael Jackson's trying to say this, and trying... All the stuff that we've been trying to say for- Yeah He also said that, um, the government changed the frequency of music- Mm because music is a healer- And- and a, and a- See and- Yeah, and a message, and the government changed the frequency.
LaurenHe speaks through us sometimes. Yeah. Um, you know, in the movie, which is true, true to life. You know how his mum, she just looked at him as- Mm of course, but she just thought there was Special special- she says that about him that she couldn't put her finger on. There was just And then- A light he even said the same. Yeah, a light, and he even said, like, he feels he needs to, he's got get it what he did. Yeah. Um- It's a beautiful story and it's a terribly sad story. Have you heard the, the phone call before, before he died? no. Uh,
Well, why don't we just listen to that phone call? It's a little hard to hear, so I'll play it and then I'll s- like let you know exactly what was said in case you didn't understand. So he said, you know, "What's going on?" I don't know if I should tell you this. I don't know who may be listening. There may be a group of people. They wanna get rid of me. "I don't understand. What do you mean? Talk to me." This is Dieter, his friend. Michael says, "I can't talk a- about it over the phone. Don't know what's going to happen, but I just feel in my soul, only God knows. They could shoot me. They could stab me. They could frame me and say I overdosed on drugs. Dieter says who? Who could do this Yeah. Wow. So heartbreaking
TinaHe was just so special. He said the most special. But he held the Guinness World Record for donations as well. It was, like, 39 organizations, 900 million, and the public didn't know about that. He just did that. Like, he was crowned a king in Africa. A village crowned him their king. He- But you could even... You compassion. Like, you could see it just oozing out of him, you could just see
Cassieit. Yeah. You can't fake that. You can't fake that. that. No. That's pure soul. So so genuine. the way he was with the animals even. Yeah. He was.
TinaLike, how do animals just- animals. Yes. Yeah. Um, and when you think about it, children and animals are vulnerable, really- Yeah. Yes to adults and society. They don't And you could
Cassiedon't have control over their own- Yeah Yeah
Tinaprotection- Yeah of, that came from him towards- Yeah animals and children, and wanting to, Create safety. And
Cassieof-
LaurenMm Yeah That's and so he wanted to recreate for all these people what he missed out on- Mm because his childhood was tough. He did reconcile with Joseph- in, before he died. His UK bodyguard, um, Andrew Fiddes I think his name is, um-
Tinaout from? I know. I know, eh? He was, um, yeah, they were, they were on tour, and Joseph Jackson used to turn up randomly to hotel rooms because Michael had kind of broken away from the family a little bit, and Joseph used to, try and contact him all the time and say, "You need the protection of the family. You need to come back into the fold. And,, he ended up seeing a rabbi, and the rabbi said, "You came from Gary, Indiana. You could have been a complete drug addict. You could have been in jail. You could have been this, you could have been that. J- Your father made sure that you didn't go down that path." "As tough as it was, life could've been a whole lot tougher." Yeah. And then he ended up reaching out to Joseph and called him up to the hotel room and, and actually said, "I forgive you," and apparently they- I Yeah definitely wanted a better life for them. But it, it went, he took it too Yeah, but would we have had the messages- Well- from the Michael that we love so we'd be thanking Joseph. Yeah. We're all dark and angry at Joseph for the but- But did that allow the messages from- Well, the higher power to come through him? Because that discipline- Yeah would have he- But that's how the universe works- Mm in our lives. Like, there's certain events or things that happen, and
Cassiebe so hard, but in order to put us into the right
Tinai- in order to put us into direction. Yes. Hard times create good men. Yeah, exactly. So-
CassieRight you know, it could've he, and I think also too, it probably gave him confidence, 'cause you see in the movie how when he stood up to Joseph- the end, and went, "I'm going out on my own." And that moment on stage when he, he, he'd finally said, "I'm free." Yeah, how good was that moment? I
Tinahow beautiful is that moment? Yeah. So that- Oh, I love that moment too that probably gave him confidence to then keep going and putting out his word- Yeah and coming up against people That, you know, were resistant. So even though that was so hard for him to do, that was supposed to happen to give him confidence to- Yeah speak out. That's what I believe. Yeah. I, I agree. Mm. Have you come across anybody, I haven't, who has seen and didn't love it? No. Not Everybody says- says- Not one "I'm going back. I'll be seeing it again." Not one. Not one. So they released in Japan, I mean, Japan do everything amazing, Oh, it's like the box office has just gone mental. Like, it's just gonna be, like, billion-dollar movie. But they are doing a, cheer and singalong in 50 cinemas across the country.
CassieSo, special screenings where people don't sit down, they sing along and dance- I love that through the whole movie. I love that. Yeah. How cool's but I love all the things available now to go through that. Yeah. Michael Jackson
Tinarepeat and- Yes
Laurenand Michael Jackson and- It's unbelievable just love it It's unbelievable Even though it, my gym session the other was three of... Like, it was a cardio session early in the morning, which hate. And of the songs in were Michael Jackson songs. Oh, so good. I, fan in my gym group. Uh, some of them aren't actually Michael Jackson fans, but even those people found the workout so much more fun- Yes with the MJ music. It just makes you move. Even Even one girl actually keep going. Oh, that was actually pretty easy. Oh, that, this makes this exercise easy." I'm like, yeah, you're sort of in there, like, "I hate gym, hate gym, just want this over, want my coffee," and then Beat It comes on. Yeah. Yeah everyone's just like, pushing through and having a good time at the gym. I know, it's incredible. You're amazing. Well,
Cassiecan I just say too, I'm, at the moment I'm working on a multi-story construction site, and, all the different trades have their speakers, and they listen to different music. And it's been a bit of a theme lately, you go into different levels, and Michael Jackson's been on all these. Yeah. Yeah, and some of them are listening to techno and some are- And there was even, I went into one, and there was, like, the Chinese were working. And they had their Asian version of Michael Jackson. Oh, that's so cool. Which was really cool. cool. So That's so cool. And you're just kinda going, "Wow, this is Everywhere, isn't it? Yeah, absolutely. I was at one of
Laurenthe other day, walking out to the car, past the, um, Kama Tyre place- Yeah where they tires, MJ blaring in the background. Yep. Walking to my car like, "This is so good."
TinaRoad next door to us is it. I, I was in working in Westfield, uh, West Lakes today. Yeah. I smashed out Michael all day long. Picked up Molly yesterday afternoon. Car was at the lights, window down, cranking the, um, Working Day and Night, that been Love that song. Well, I've been spending a bit of time at home lately, and I had in the background on Spotify just Michael Jackson's greatest hits or whatever, while I was home all day. I put it on in the morning, it was still going- well into the afternoon, but not one song repeated. Like, and it- No, his catalog is massive I'm going, how... Yeah,
Laurenmassive. I don't think we ever acknowledged that. This is in a time when it's pretty easy to produce music these Mm. Yeah Yeah. easy back then to produce
Tinaproduce music.
LaurenNo. No. I, I don't know how many, do we know the stats on how many songs he actually has had? No, I don't. There's a whole lot of unreleased ones too. It like 10:00 AM, or 9:00 or 10:00 AM till like 3:00 or 4:00 or 5:00 PM in the afternoon Yeah that's incredible. Of just Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson. Yeah. Not one song repeated itself. Yeah. And there was still- I've had him on all day in the shop, and they don't repeat
Tinaand you forget some of them, and then some of them I'm thinking, "I don't think I know this one. How do I not know the words to this one?" Yeah. I only heard it once. Look on Spotify, unreleased Michael Jackson. There's a shitload of them. Ooh. I reckon they'll bring out albums with the unreleased ones. Artist you think? I don't know. I don't know, but it was unbel- He was an artist I mean, he was up all hours of the night. As soon as he got inspiration or the message, or whatever it was, he would come straight down and start writing. Oh, I'm in the Mirror. That's- Yes. Amazing. Yeah when you look in the mirror at the person looking back at you, that's the only one you're accountable to. That's right. you can change, control or do anything and this is what so much of Michael inspires in people anyway. Imagine h- how much has come about since this even, makes people think, you listen to the words, you play the music, it's very contagious. Even maybe people that didn't listen to him so much are now listening to him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I think i- he's so inspiring. Like you said, Lauren, he was meant to come back in at time. here- We needed him. His We need him in. Yeah but he's vibrationally here. His spirit. His spirit's here, um, I think it's- Yeah spreading through- A-
Cassieand with this- the world
Laurentoday's technology, like we couldn't just look up lyrics to songs. So when we were kids or teenagers- Yeah. I remember- Singing along Playing tape and stopping the lyrics yeah, and writing rec- re- rewind and write it, that's only what you're interpreting because- Yeah mean, he's very quick some of his songs. Yes.
TinaYes. Mm. at all. No, And now we're actually looking at the lyrics and going, "Oh my gosh, I didn't actually realize that's what he was saying- Mm all those years." And we were singing along to it too. Yes.
Laurenthe one who has pushed back on technology so I feel like most bad in the world is because of technology, but then many good things- Yes
Tinacome- We wouldn't know about so much, And we would know about it if it wasn't for Elon. None of would be even on Instagram right now if that was- Absolutely. Yeah, that's true We're talking about controversial figures- Mm
LaurenTrump and MJ
TinaOkay, so when MJ was going through his court case, Trump actually put him up in the Trump Towers and, publicly said that he 100% supports him. He would leave him alone with his own children, and he offered him money at the time, but Michael didn't need it. That was just the media saying that he was going broke. But he y- obviously would've appreciated that, and, that Andrew Fiddes, his UK bodyguard, has spoken a lot well. But interestingly, the same time, Kamala Harris, who was a public prosecutor, was speaking out on the news to say that we should always believe children, even if there's no proof, um, and that she believed Michael was guilty. So the Trump-Kamala battle way then. Oh, Isn't Mm. it? Oh my God. Again, the world is a Yeah, that's right. But- Open how interesting. And another connection I come across the other day, There's an interview with Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley in Graceland, and you've got Neverland, Graceland, King of Rock, King of Pop, And they were going on about the government and who runs the government, and there was quite a bit of swearing, quite a bit of, the same sentiment that Michael had with Sony and the government being run by other people. Very similar sentiment. And they were being interviewed and they were just like, "Are you effing stupid? Like, wake up," And then I was thinking, hang on a minute, did Michael marry? I know. I was so weird. I, uh, forgot about that. I did wanna bring that up. Yeah. he married Lisa Marie Presley Unbelievable was
Cassielong marriage, was it? Do you know when- No, they got married in secret, and, um- But they loved-
Tinaalways stayed- They did love each other yeah, they al- Yeah always stayed very close though, didn't they Yeah, they They stayed really close, and,, yeah, they, I think they were pretty supportive of each other. But when I was, like, watching the interview with Elvis, I was just like, and it clicked, I'm like- He knew many things what? What a connection. That's right. Yeah.
LaurenAnything else that's gonna blow our minds? Oh, have you seen the movie Moonwalker? wa- I used to. It, my, me and my sister were obsessed with it, and we used to go to the video shop and hire it, and it was on a video- Yes it. So we would've been in primary school. Would we have been in primary school?
TinaYeah, primary school. Tricia watched every single day for like two years. Yeah, we were obsessed with it. Yeah. we, just once, like we borrowed it a lot of times. Yeah. And would be late to return it, and then we- ...you, know you get a fine to return it. Yeah. But
Cassiecause we had Moonwalker.
TinaYeah. Loved it, it again, but I couldn't. on my laptop in a hotel room who tried to download it, and I couldn't get it. Oh, okay. I watched it maybe it was Prime or something. But, yeah, watching it again as an adult, and knowing everything that you know now, it's so interesting. It's not very long. It's I only barely remember it in tiny segments, so I'm gonna back all kind different movies put together. So you've got, Leave Me Alone, that's all about the media. Mm. So, and he's going through, the circus, and he's on a rollercoaster, and there's all the newspaper clippings coming up, and he's singing Just Leave Me Alone. Mm. And then, the part where the kids get taken and he's singing Annie, Are You Okay?, that's all about rescuing kids the elite, I was just about to bring that up. It is, yeah. Yeah, it is. 100%, for sure. The Epstein files with the children, that wasn't Michael trying to save them from going to the island, so he built- Yes basically-
Cassiea sanctuary for them yeah, Macaulay Culkin He goes, "Michael Jackson saved me from getting on a plane to a little island." Yeah. Mm. He was saving them Whereas they, the media turned that around as if what he built there with, yeah. Neverland, that basically that was like a lure which it wasn't, was a total opposite It like Disneyland- bring the children there- save them from whatever, Yeah, Yeah. So that's where he was and to make it such a beautiful place where kids could go and be kids and the, every, desire of childhood because again, like you said- He never had that have that childhood- Exactly because he was working all the time. Yeah. it such an inspiring and a magical place for children to just lose themselves in imagination and creativity and- Yeah Yeah. I would've loved have gone to Neverland. Oh my gosh. Oh, I know. Oh, I know. How amazing. so stupid, I feel like I do know him, you know? Like- Because that's- He's like a friend yeah Yeah. Because it's his soul and his star- he's a star seed. Yeah. Yeah, that's right. you say the other day, like, is Billie Jean the number one downloaded I was like- Oh, there's so There's the number one, obviously number one movie is Michael In the world number one streamed artist yeah uh, number one song, number one book. He is breaking every single record, and the man's been not with us for 17 years. Yeah. Like- 17 doesn't
TinaYeah, 17 years seem like 17 years 17 years. Yeah, I know. It, It, that just seems un-
Cassieknow it seems unbelievable
Tinaknow unbelievable, really. And so of the, the younger generation who are loving him weren't even alive- Yeah when he was- Yeah, in the charts and do, I remember so clearly when they had it on the media that he'd passed. You just couldn't- Where were you? I already know exactly where I was I don't remember Yeah,
CassieYou don't remember Oh, you don't I
TinaI was home. I actually don't remember. Yeah, I do remember. I don't remember. I was home, but I was, like, kept watching the footage and thinking, part of me was thinking, "I hope they're taking him somewhere- I hope so. pretend." That they're pretend that he's Yeah died, and he, that, like, 'cause I felt like he to be saved. Mm. He wasn't in know- Some people say he's still out there Well, yeah, that's- a good- There was something to save, too good space. Well, yeah, that's- Well,
CassieI've, he's living through Jafar,
Tinatheory. Yeah. Oh, yeah, he's definitely living through his art. Um, but yeah, you just couldn't believe. It was like Princess Diana. I, I remember where I was. Yeah. Yeah. I was- Very close connection- Yeah, exactly to him and Princess Diana, too uh, close with them, Princess Diana too Oh, yeah, for yeah. Yeah. Very. remember because sh- I think she was also a very special And she was murdered. And she was murdered. Mm. So I belie- I, I remember those are the two celebrities I remember where I was and what I was doing. Everyone knows they're murdered.
CassieThis so much. But the, the night before, so you know Orianthi, the Adelaide guitarist? Mm. Okay, so the This Is It Tour,
TinaShe's actually an Adelaide girl. She knows my guitar teacher. Yes. incredible. Yeah. This Oh, and an interview with her not long ago about Michael and her experience and what happened the, when they got the news. The night before, they had been rehearsing and they had the keys for their apartments in, in the UK for the O2 Arena.
CassieThey were ready to go. He was pumped. The v- the final dress rehearsal was amazing. They were ready. He was not a sick man.
LaurenI've seen that. passing- Yeah or whatever, and like he was, he w- he was about to do an amazing concert. Yeah. He
Tinafine. look like he was sick. They all, they they were ready to go. Definitely
Laurenmurdered.
TinaMurdered Yeah. And just backtracking to that first accusation, he never paid out that $20 million to that father, by the way. He was about to go on his Dangerous Tour, and, the accusations came out,, the night before they were about to go on tour, and it was his insurance company said, "We're taking care of this" and he said, "No, no, no, don't do that." And he goes, "Michael, we can't. We will lose that much money, and there's so much on the line here, and it's not just you that's gonna lose the money." So the insurance company paid him out, not Michael, which made him look guilty. Main point. Yeah. Mm. Oh. Yeah a hug. I know. wanna give him a hug. Annie Are You Okay? Do think Annie is okay?
CassieDo you know, do you know what that's about?
TinaNo. All you hear is, "Annie, are you Annie I haven't looked up the lyrics of that, but I'm like- Do you know what that- Annie, are you Annie, Annie is
Cassieokay. Annie, Annie is a CPR doll for first aid course. They call, that's Annie. And the first thing you do with DR ABC,
TinaDanger, response, airway, breathing, circulation, is, "Annie, Annie are you okay?" song come from. I'm serious. I didn't know that. I just wondered, who is Annie and is she okay? And is she okay? Yeah. Love it, that's funny. Apparently- that's Smooth Criminal, that's about saving children- Yeah, yeah Smooth Criminal. Mm. Um, Smooth Criminal dance. Is it Smooth Criminal? I mean, I just love them all. That's the gravity-defying move. Yes. Mm. Yes, yes. That's the one I just watch when it comes up on my
LaurenCould b- could be a made up thing dance. Oh, and I just- See, that's Smooth Criminal. That's about children. Yeah, yeah Smooth Criminal. Smooth Criminal dance. Is it Smooth Criminal? I all. That's the gravity-defying move. Yes. comes up on my Instagram feed. Yes. And the Billie Jean one. Yes. what is that? Smooth Criminal. Yeah. Like, has anybody ever, ever danced that well ever in this world besides him, ever? Not even close. Not even close. Not even close. No. What's your fave,
Tinaeven close. No. fave, have you got a fave song? I always thought it was Billie Jean Mm-hmm But I may be going Beat It. Yeah? may be going Beat It. I do love Beat It,
CassieIt. I love Human Nature.
Tinayeah. Mm. yeah. I mean, I love Heal the World too. Yeah, Heal the World. Yeah, yeah, yeah. tell many might have a- You Tell him it's just- You can't- Yeah You can't really
Cassie"Tell him it's just human nature, why?" Oh,
Tinaso many good ones but Beat It always just, like, makes you just wanna come alive- Yeah doesn't it? Yeah. And I have been learning the moves. Yeah. And I'm I have been learning the dance moves to Beat It. I'm not too bad. How many times have we woke up with tears in the car? Oh, yeah. So many. So many. But I feel like our teen a- like,
Laurenwhen we were teenagers in the '80s- Mm it was Beat It, Thriller, those kinds of- Yeah, yeah, that was our era about us- as teenagers at our sleepovers or going to parties or listening to music, I feel like we were about Beat It, Thriller, Bad.
TinaYeah. He was so hot in the Bad era, oh. I mean, Best look. I mean, Yeah specimen anyway, but he's be- That was his best look, and when turns around. Oh, yeah,
LaurenJafaar turns around- Ah. I know. Oh, it just melts
CassieYou again Yeah. I remember when Thriller come out, and on MTV you're watching that whole video clip- Yeah and you're just captivated, like, it was so different. at that too. Yeah. Thriller was just- Nothing had ever been that before No had it like music and theater and acting. Yes. Short films. He, there are a lot more short films than Thriller and Moonwalker, by the way. a whole list of them, and I will put it in the show notes. Very excited. I actually have been looking at buying the red jacket that he wears in Beat It and that white T-shirt on it. Yeah. Oh, it's so iconic, isn't it? I love that stuff. You just can see him- what it was like when he came out doing- glove
TinaJust was cool. Yeah I mean, I didn't love, pants. Yeah. he always, You know was a a period- Yeah where he went went, yeah undies over the tight jeans. Yeah, that was so you could see his moves. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
CassieThere we go. And same as the glove, and s- even the Band-Aids around the fingers, he never had any problem with the fingers. It was to draw attention to the hand movements. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And even the time, he had the tape on his nose, and people were saying that his nose was falling off. He was about to go and see some dignitary, some prime minister or whatever somewhere, and Andy Fides was saying, you know, "What, what are you doing? Like, why have you got that?" And he's like, "Because it's gonna get everyone talking." You gotta stay in people's minds.
TinaHe was very, very clever. Nearly as wise as you. He's hilarious. I'm just in awe. I'm just in awe of her knowledge. You're hilarious. I know.
CassieOne more thing on the nose, though. So Eminem's song, remember the song that Eminem come out with? And in the film clip, he's dressed as Michael Jackson, and his nose falls off. Mm.
TinaOh, it And I do like
Cassiekicks the nose on the dance floor. Okay, I'll link that in as well.
TinaI thought I'd seen it all. So Michael Jackson saw that, that film clip, he went out and he bought Eminem's catalog. He then owned everything Eminem, had done, oh.
CassieThat's the ultimate
TinaYeah, that is. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. That's incredible. That's really is that? Yeah, there's, so much,, background that we don't know
Laurenyeah. Yeah. That's, that's all I think about. It's all I look at and- And I was, and I feel almost like I let him down by going along with my life, not thinking about him too much. Mm. it again, and I'm, I'm glad. Thanks for this, but- Yeah. I know what you mean, though. It's like, well, there was like a gap our life we didn't- forget him like, no We didn't forget but that's life, isn't it? Yeah. You go on with life, babies- working, uh, different music comes out- Yeah that's played around you and- Yeah that's played around you. But no music matches Michael Jackson. Yeah. Yeah. And it wasn't, wasn't, like, my mum was listening to it, so I grew up as a little kid, my mum had the records. Mm. the old with the little Jackson Five, she had that. Yeah. And then The, Off The Off fro. She stuff. So as a little kid, I grew up listening to that. Yeah. And as stuff, and then my kids grew up listening to the next. Mm. So it, for me- Yeah good 30 years of my life listening to Michael Jackson. So you didn't really go off. We didn't go off.
CassieIt's just that
Tinaoff
Cassiediscussion around his frequency and light- Yeah and message and all of that was probably not a conversation, it was just the appreciation of the music itself. Bigger- Bigger and- Better than- Better and crazy Yeah Yeah. It's so amazing
LaurenImagine you pass away, that's what you leave behind. Yeah yeah. That's amazing.
TinaI think everyone can kind of figure out how much we out Yeah How much we love MJ Yeah. Mike would, yeah. Aww. Can tell? Oh my light in the world that light will never die- Never or be dimmed. It'll always continue on, and now it's just lit up even more at a time when the world needs it more than ever. Mm. And every song has so many different messages that is so relevant- Relevant to the world becoming a better place- Yeah going forward It's much more relevant now than it was when it. It's almost like he knew what was- coming. But you think about right now, with everything that's so negative, he's here to bring up that vibration through his music and art. And, it's massively brought the vibration up. Mm. Everyone's listening to him again or finding him really- Yeah for the first time- For the first time 'cause everyone's obviously been exposed to him, but some people may not have had the passion for him- Yeah back in that era. So it's amazing. Heal the World, everyone, no matter where you are, put it on your phone, on your speaker, in your car, on your job site, wherever. LA time, it's the 25th of June at 2:26 AM.
